The very first book the foundation published was The Tragedy of Karbala in 1986 in the English language by Syed-Mohsin Naquvi. In 1992, a newer 2nd edition was published with a sale and distribution of 5,000 copies. A much enhanced 3rd edition of the book was published in 2015. This edition was inaugurated at an event arranged at Princeton University in New Jersey, on the 18th of January 2015, in association with the late Imam Sohaib Sultan at the Muslim Life Program at Princeton University. This book has been taught in Islamic schools across the western hemisphere and two generations of young Muslims have benefitted from it in the English-speaking world.
